UPSC NDA/NA Entrance Exam Pattern

Union Public Service Commission normally conducts National Defence Academy Exam on 2nd or 3rd week of April & October every year. UPSC NDA/NA Entrance Exam Pattern 1

With the help of this guidance to the Exam Pattern, aspirants have an overview of sample of the exam, including various segments, number of questions which comes in the exam, total marks, and exam duration and marking scheme. Most of candidates start their preparation in wrong manner in lack of right guidance.

NDA Exam Pattern

Time Duration : The duration for National Defence Academy Examination is 5 hours, of which 2 hours and 30 minutes for each of two papers.

Mode of Paper: National Defence Academy Examination exam will be conducted in pen and paper based mode.

Marks Distribution: The written exam is of a total of 900 marks; where Mathematics paper contains 300 marks and General Ability Test consist of 600 marks.

Medium of Paper: You can opt for the exam in both Hindi & English language as per your choices. The papers will consist of objective type questions and the questions papers (Maths & General Ability) will be set in English and Hindi both languages.

Marking Scheme: There will be negative marking with a penalty of one third marks allotted to question for which wrong answers given by the aspirants.

UPSC keeps on updating the examination pattern & examination syllabus. So candidates, who are preparing for this examination, must know about latest and updated exam pattern of NDA. There will be 270 multiple choice questions, 120 questions in Mathematics and 150 questions in General Ability Test. Each paper will be of 150 minutes. Both papers will be of 900 marks as given in table:

General Ability Test (Paper II) consists of following Subjects:

Section B (Chemistry)   60 marks
Section C (General Science) 40 marks

Section E (Geography) 80 marks
Section F (Current Events) 40 marks

Important: Candidates need to remember that as per the latest policies, one third (0.33) negative marking for each wrong question will be subtracted from their scored marks. If you choose more than one answer, it will be also treated as a wrong answer.
