No.4 Air Force Selection Board (AFSB), Varanasi
No. 4 Air Force Selection Board is located at Varanasi Cantt area. This is the fourth selection board of Air Force for shortlisting potential candidates after testing them. Candidates are Interviewed here for various entries like NDA, CDSE, NCC and AFCAT entries.
The selection center has all the basic amenities and necessary facilities including Recreation room/Ante room and canteens to provide a comfortable stay during the interview period.
Varanasi also known as Benares, Banaras or Kashi, is situated on the banks of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh, 320 kilometres south-east of the Lucknow, and 121 kilometres east of Allahabad. According to legend, Varanasi was founded by the god Shiva. Chandradeva, founder of the Gahadavala dynasty made Banaras a second capital in 1090. In the 16th century, Mughal emperor Akbar invested in the city to built two large temples dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. In 1656, Emperor Aurangzeb ordered the destruction of many temples and the building of mosques, causing the city to experience a temporary setback.

Air – Varanasi is served by Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, which is approximately 26 km from the city centre in Babatpur. The airport inaugurated a new terminal in 2010, and it was granted international airport status on 4 October 2012. Air India, Buddha Air, Jet Airways, Jet Konnect, IndiGo, and SpiceJet operate regular or weekly flights from Varanasi to Delhi, Gaya, Kathmandu, Khajuraho, Sharjah, Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata.
