No.2 Air Force Selection Board (AFSB), Mysore

No.2 Air Force Selection Board is located at CV Complex, Sidharth Nagar of Mysore (now renamed as Mysuru). This is the second board which is assigned to the candidates for SSB Interviews of NDA, CDSE, NCC and AFCAT entries.

The selection board is well equipped with all the required facilities to test the mettle of candidates as per Air Force standards. It also provide a comfortable and memorable examination environment for candidates. 

History

Mysore, officially renamed as Mysuru, is the third most populous city in the state of Karnataka, India. It is located at the base of the Chamundi Hills and almost 146 km  southwest of Bangalore. After independence, Mysore city remained as part of the Mysore State, now known as Karnataka. Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar, then king of Mysore, was allowed to retain his titles and was nominated as the Rajapramukh (appointed governor) of the state. Mysore was capital of the Kingdom of Mysore until 1947. Mysore is famous for its palaces and festivities. In terms of sports, Cricket is one of the most played game.

How To Reach No.2 AFSB, Mysuru

Rail – Mysore railway station is connected to Hassan, Bangalore and Chamarajanagar. All trains that connect to Mysore are operated by South Western Railway Zone, Hubli of Indian Railways. To reach faster you can board Shatabdi Express which connects Mysore railway station to other important stations of the country.

Road – The city has National Highway 212 which links it to Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and other private agencies operate buses both within the city and between cities.

Air – Mysore Airport is now closed due to downfall of Kingfisher Airlines. However, airlines have had difficulty maintaining service to the airport. As of December 2016, the airport is without commercial service. So the closest airport to Mysore is Bengaluru International Airport.
