The basic purpose of a PIQ form for Selection Board officials may be broadly classified as:-

1. Do you really meet the SSB selection criteria? This information lets them filter candidates into a ‘long list’. Make sure you can fit into the space before actually attending SSB (else you’ll be screened-out on the first day). Check the job description and prove that you match the requirements.

2. Do you stand out among the other applicants? This is what helps recruiters make their shortlist for interview. If other candidates have similar qualifications it may be your work experience or extracurricular activities that reveal your employment potential.

In the beginning of the form, you have to fill in details like your name and your father’s name and your place of maximum residence. This follows by your present address with the approximate population of the city or town. Thus, it is important that you must know about your city, its population and also the facts & features of of your city, district & state (it will help in the Personal Interview).

After that you have to fill in details like State and District, Religion, Caste, Mother Tongue, Date of Birth. Next you have to fill up the information regarding your parents, their age, educational qualifications, present occupation and their monthly income. You are supposed to correctly know all these information about your parents and guardians. Hence, before going for your SSB interview, make a note of these parts.

You have to write about your marks that you achieved in your 10th class board, 12th class board and the medium through which you studied. You have to mention your age, height (in meter) and your weight (in kg).

If you have any NCC training, you have to mention the details followed by participation in games and sports, your hobbies and interest, extracurricular activities or achievements. You also have to mention your position of responsibility or the office you held in NCC/Sports/Extra Curricular Group and other fields, if any.

At last, you have to write about your last interview, number of chances availed, details of last Selection Board Interview like place of entry, date, your batch and chest number and whether you are recommended or not.
